"Most ideas live no further than as
a fleeting thought within the mind
in which they were conceived, but
sometimes an idea is persistent."
Manta5 was founded in early 2011 by Guy Howard-Willis and Roland Alonzo, both passionate and committed cyclists. With a distinct lack of options for a would-be water cyclist the idea consumed Guy’s mind – until one day, he swapped wondering for action, met bike designer Roland and undertook the ultimate challenge of perseverance to make this dream a reality. It was here that the Manta5 journey began.
HIGH PERFORMANCE SECRET
The pair worked in secrecy from everyone apart from their wives for two years. Just as a high-performance bicycle, Guy and Roland envisioned a concept that was lightweight, fast, agile, easy to transport, assemble and upgrade. More importantly, riders needed to be able to launch from a pontoon, beach or from deep water. After 7 years, 7 major prototypes and hundreds of iterations, the Hydrofoiler™ XE-1 was born.
From advanced design to superior materials, we’ve spent more than seven years innovating to deliver a cutting edge watercraft with a truly unique riding experience. When you’re riding, you’re on a bike that’s built on a dedication to replicate the intuitive cycling experience on water.
